Talking Planet Studio gives teachers and Language Keepers a simple, safe space to build animated language resources. Use the Library to translate ready-made episodes, or open the Sandbox so learners can create their own stories from scratch.

Everything runs in a web browser. Learners can record voices, draw pictures, add subtitles and speech bubbles, and export videos or printable PDFs using a laptop, tablet or desktop computer.

Talking Planet combines a library of professionally created learning resources with tools that let communities add their own voices, translations and original creations. Over time, each community develops a collection of resources that is uniquely their own.

Mini Episodes work well for short vocabulary sessions. Full Episodes are perfect for longer stories. Custom Episodes let you incorporate your own specific cultural themes such as food, plants, animals or tools, while the Sandbox offers unlimited creativity and fun for learners of all ages and abilities.

Sandbox creations are not just videos, they can be exported as landscape PDFs too. Choose one frame per page for worksheets, or four frames per page for comic strips. Add empty speech bubbles and learners can write in their own translations.

The platform asks users to confirm they own or have permission to use any music, images or logos they upload. Declarations are logged to help communities protect their cultural and intellectual property.

Talking Planet complements language nests, immersion schools, after-school clubs and community language programmes. It gives learners opportunities to use the language creatively while building on the teaching they are already receiving.

Rather than simply repeating vocabulary, learners demonstrate their understanding by creating stories, conversations, comics and picture books in the Sandbox.

Each project becomes part of a learner's portfolio. Looking back over earlier work allows teachers, Language Keepers and families to see how vocabulary, confidence and storytelling develop over time.

Children often take pride in sharing their work with classmates, families and the wider community, helping to reinforce both language learning and cultural identity.
