Who we are
Talking Planet is run by Cadi Catlow. If you have any question about your information, write to cadi@talking-planet.com.
What we keep
- Your account: the name and email address you sign up with, and the access code you used.
- Your work: recordings, drawings, translations, notes and the projects you save, plus who you invite to work with you.
- Visit counting: which pages are opened, roughly where visits come from, and a random number stored on your device so repeat visits aren't counted twice. No name or email is attached to this.
Why we keep it
Your account keeps you signed in. Your work is stored so you can come back to it and share it with people you invite. Visit counting tells us which parts of the site are useful — it is only switched on if you agree.
What's stored on your device
- Sign-in record — needed to keep you logged in. This is essential, so it doesn't need permission.
- Visit counting — only saved once you say yes, and removed if you say no.
You haven't chosen yet — the notice will appear at the bottom of the page.
Who else sees it
Nobody buys or receives your information for advertising. It sits with the hosting and storage services that run the site, and with anyone you personally invite to a project. Cadi can see accounts and saved work in order to run and support the site.
How long we keep it
Your account and your work stay until you ask us to delete them. Visit counts are kept as anonymous totals.
Children
Talking Planet is made for classrooms and families. Children should use it with a teacher, parent or carer, and accounts should be set up by that adult.
Your choices
You can ask to see what we hold, have it corrected, or have your account and work deleted. Email cadi@talking-planet.com and we'll sort it out.
